Internet ready and smart tvs
TVs are becoming smarter, more sociable and connected. You can now do more with your TV than watch broadcast television.
There are now:
Streaming TV, music and movies
- bbc iplayer
- Internet browsing
- Software and firmware updates for your smart television.
There are 3 ways to connect
- Wireless – using WiFi you can on most new televisions connect wireless to your router as you would with your laptop or tablet to gain access to online features as listed above. This is the most convenient way to connect but can be the slowest especially when streaming movies.
- Wired – Using an Ethernet cable directly to your router is a faster method of connecting to online services, but no always convenient especially if your TV is wall mounted. If this is something that you would wish to have in your installation it is worth while preparing this in the begging of your installation.
- Powerline sockets/adaptors – Using a powerline adaptor is a good way of achieving up-to 200mps by using the electrical power outlets already installed in your home.
